I am delighted to be here the beautiful Qinghai and participate in Qinghai Tibetan Carpet International Exhibition. First, I would like on behalf of the Ministry of Commerce to express warm congratulations on the opening of 2007 Qinghai Tibetan Carpets International Exhibition.
Tibetan Carpets is original from the folk craftwork of Qing Zhang Qingzang Plateau over 2000 years ago, it inhales and integrates the religious art soul from China, India and Nepal, to form treasure that has unique artistic style. From the reform and opening up, Tibetan Carpets got quite great progress in production style, production craftwork, manufacture research and market exploitation under the support of local government and relevant aspects, it rewards welcome around domestic and overseas market deeply. It is statistics international market demands any kinds of handcraft carpets around 3 billion dollars based on relevant data,, the export of China around 700 million dollars that account for 1/4 international market shares and it shows the increased situation steadily. At same time, people pay much more attention to life-style and seek life characteristics with our nation per income increase steadily and standard of living is improved, Tibetan Carpet as a flower of folk craftwork get flavor by greatness consumers.
Ministry of Commerce has paid more attention and supports all the time on Qinghai Tibetan Carpet International Exhibition that has been hold three times and has brought active efforts within domestic and overseas areas. Qinghai Tibetan Carpets International Exhibition as the characteristic and professional exhibition in western region not only enriches Tibetan folk culture and boosts Tibetan Carpets industry development but also promotes Chinese carpets industry into international market in order to establish an important platform for communication and corporation of international carpet industry.
