Deputy China International Trade Representative Chong Quan Met with the 7th Japanese Governmental and Non-governmental Joint Delegation on IPR

  

Chong Quan, Deputy China International Trade Representative of MOFCOM, met with the 7th Japanese Governmental and Non-governmental Joint Delegation on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), headed by Chairman of International Intellectual Property Protection Forum Toshiyuki Shiga and Vice Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Yosuke Kondo, in Beijing on August 18.

The two sides the contributions made by Japanese Governmental and Non-governmental Joint Delegation on IPR to actively boosting the exchanges and cooperation in IPR between the two countries, and exchanged views on Intellectual Property Infringement on Internet and enhancing IPR protection in show business.

Chong stated that the Chinese government attached great importance to IPR protection and make it a national strategy, which was necessary to build an innovative country. IPR protection is a global issue. It can’t do without cooperation among countries. China has established bilateral IPR working group with the U.S., EU, Japan, Switzerland, Russia, and Brazil respectively, and held a series of activities on cooperation and exchanges in depth. The Chinese government would like to enhance the exchanges and cooperation with other countries and international organizations with a positive stance of opening up so as to jointly boost to build a great IPR protection mechanism in the world.

The two sides reached consensus to continue enhancing exchanges and understandings, and promoting mutual cooperation through Japanese Governmental and Non-governmental Joint Delegation on IPR and Sino-Japan IPR protection working group to creating a favorable environment for IPR protection for Sino-Japan trade and economic cooperation.
